"Peggy Tracy had some terrific stories about forensic accounting, If you are reading this page it means that you have indicated that you would like to be a panelist at Love is Murder 2012. Believe us when we say that we would love to have you. It has been the policy of Love is Murder to be as inclusive as possible and to put as many people on panels as want them. This has made for wonderfully varied programs with truly spectacular mixes of authors, specialists, styles and sub-genres represented. It has also made Love is Murder very popular with readers and writers alike, as our continued growth proves. It is this very popularity, however, that is forcing us to have to rethink this inclusiveness. There simply isn’t enough time to schedule enough panels to give everyone who wants it as much panel time as they want. It is just that simple….and that complicated. How do we decide who gets time? How can we exclude anyone when the conference policy is to be inclusive? These are the very difficult questions that we have to deal with as we begin scheduling for Love is Murder 2012. Here are some of the ways we are dealing with the dilemma. First, the easiest: THE DEADLINE: Panel slots are filling up quickly. If you missed the October 15, 2011 deadline there is still opportunity for a panel with immediate registration. THE GRID IS LIMITED: We understand that you all have preferences of some sort about when you will be scheduled, but we ask that you be as flexible as possible. The more restrictions you have, the less likely we will be able to give you time. We are coming up with as many creative ways to include as many people as possible, but we still have to work within the constraints of time and place. Help us find you a place by giving us as much flexibility as possible. We want you to be included. |
